SHELT is looking for highly experienced Systems Engineers in Nigeria with a strong Cisco technical background.

As aPre-sales/Systems Engineer, you will partner with our Account Managers in a pre-sales technical role, showcasing SHELT solutions and services.

Qualified candidates should bring industry knowledge and years of technology experience to aid in technical selling, explaining features and benefits to customers, and designing and configuring products to meet specific customer needs. In this role, you will have direct account responsibilities for selected Enterprise andCommercial accounts in Nigeria. Staying up-to-date on relevant competitive solutions, products, and services is essential.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of routing and switching and security technologies is required.
  • Baseline Systems Engineering skills in at least one of the following areas of specialization: Security, Unified Communications, and Wireless.
  • Cisco certification is required, and CCIE certification is preferred, along with proven experience.
  • Strong relationship management skills.
  • Comfortable in applying business acumen and financial expertise to assist in identifying & qualifying selling opportunities as part of an account team.
  • Knowledge of relevant solution sets, product line specifications, performance criteria, and applications.
  • Ability to work efficiently, make valuable contributions as a team member, and assume a proactive approach to their career.
  • Must have both the sales skills and technical knowledge to make presentations and lead customer discussions to advance the sales process.
  • Enterprise / Commercial Sector experience in Nigeria is preferable.
  • University degree with a minimum of 5+ years of related experience in the IT/networking industry in Nigeria.

Pre-Sales responsibilities

  • Ability to collect the right information from the customer and analyze it.
  • Size Solutions based on SHELT offerings and within clients’ budgets & technical requirements.
  • Actively participate in POCs with the relevant teams both internally and within the customer and/or commercial partner.
  • Liaise with senior presales for the latest solutions technologies and design validation.
  • Generate quotations and recommend the best price/value for required solutions.
  • Propose the most optimized products that fit the required solutions within the client’s budgets & technical requirements.
  • Respond proactively to sales inquiries coming through emails, with recommendations where possible.    
  • Respond to tenders and bids with best fit and compliance. 
  • Follow up on end-of-life, refresh, and license renewals and communicate with the sales team.
  • Handle orders and in-hand projects:
     
  • Place orders with distributors or vendors and ensure on-time delivery.
  • Prepare purchase orders (POs) for specific projects and order delivery.
  •  
  • Specialize in a minimum of 2 areas and acquire general knowledge of the remaining products.
  • Research new technologies and solutions; Continuously strive to improve knowledge around SHELT’s product offerings and solutions, along with maintaining a deep understanding of the competitive landscape.
  • Prepare reports as per the Unit Manager’s requests and conduct ad/hoc assignments on as need basis.
  • Acquire the latest technology updates by attending trainings and webinars and reading the latest technical white papers.
  • Participate in vendor training to develop skills and knowledge of existing and new products.
  • Maintain vendor certification requirements and acquire new ones by ensuring continuing learning and development.

Sales & Technical Support responsibilities:

  • Lead all technical aspects of a sales cycle with the customers through all the stages of the proposals and the quotations; Coordinate with sales and technical team to design best client-focused solutions based on clients’ inquiries.
  • Assist the Sales team with requests for quotations and information and recommend the best options.
  • Contact customers (through meetings with account managers or phone calls) for technical information gathering or solutions support.
  • Communicate the role and  value of the proposed solution to the customer.
  • Deliver solution presentations upon request.
  • Keep track of vendor’s promos for assigned specialization.
  • Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the CRM system by providingupdates on a daily basis for accounts, leads, and activities (meetingsheld, calls client interaction…etc.
